Finally.........a Real Vacation

My dad is wonderful....... :-)

He's taking my brother, Jeff and I on vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We leave early tomorrow morning and by early, I mean early. We have to be at the airport by 4:30 in the morning.... icky. But of course it's worth it to be on our way to sunny beaches and fruity drinks!

It's going to be nice to spend some alone time with my fam....... it'll be a time to reflect, a time to laugh together and a time to look forward as a family and talk about the things to come.

And of course it'll be a time of surfing, exploring, lounging and drinkin, too! I plan to take a bunch of pictures and post them on my new photo album blog.

I'll be back on Saturday, Sept 3rd - see you then!

Oh, and Happy Early Birthday, baby! I know I'll be gone on your bday but I'll call ya :-)

27.....can you you believe it?!?! Hehehehehe...........I Love you!

Hmmmmmm

Even though I know this picture is fake, it facinated me......

Maybe it's because there's a relection for something that isn't possible.....

Maybe it's because it's reminds me that the impossible is tempting.....

Or maybe it's because I'm easily ammused :-)

For whatever reason, I like it.

Summer Day at Whidbey

Erik and his dad painted the hydroplane today and it looks prett slick! I'll post pictures tomorrow when I can find good batteries. The boat is all white and now has a bright yet really rich red strip from the front, down the sponson and straight out the back. There's still a lot of work to do on the boat before they race it out in Ione in a couple weeks, but today, it was all about shiny paint :-)

And then there was the Island County Fair........There are so many colorful, interesting and slighty crazy people in the Northwest...... It was my first time at the fair and I had a blast :-) Erik and I saw the most amazing, enormous birds as we were walking in. Some wildlife organization was walking by with a hawk and a bald eagle. I never thought an eagle could get so huge..... it was so beautiful. Definitely a cool moment (and of course my camera batteries had died).

We then sat and ate good, greasy fair food, people watching and listening to some live band named Foghat. Decent music, but we did leave soon after that.

Erik and I spent the rest of the evening driving around Whidbey and then took a long stroll down a beach while the tide was coming in.

What a day........ what a perfect day.

New Fav Website

http://www.answers.com/

Check it out! Type in any word and it gives you dictionary definition, thesaurus, encyclopedia, language translations and much more. There's downloads, shopping, news headlines and archive, calendar and it goes on.

It's a cooler, more funky approach powered by Google.

Giggle Giggle

We're such dorks.....

It was a late night, we missed a ferry and had to wait another hour or so - we got bored and started taking goofy pictures.

I love being able to act like a complete bafoon.....

(especially with another bafoon)

MY BRO'S ENGAGED!

That gorgeous woman you see there is Mary..... a one-of-a-kind woman who stole my brother's heart :-) I am SO excited for him!!!! Jeff's picky and it takes a special female that can put up with him. And Mary is just wonderful....... she has felt like part of the family since we all first met. We were all wondering, "Sheesh, when's Jeff going to propose to her???"
He was so romantic about it too..... they were vacationing in Napa Valley, CA and he proposed to her in a beautiful garden next to a vinyard.
The only downside it that they're thinking about having a destination wedding......ya know, like Hawaii or Jamaica or the Carribean...... so that means $$$. Of course it's their wedding and it's important they do something that is meaningful to them..... but I know some of our extended family would like to attend and couldn't if it meant getting on a plane. So, we'll see. I'm just happy it's finally happened!!!
Congratulations, guys!
:-)
