My mom showed up in my dream last night……..wearing her classic red and white blouse under a navy-blue suit……..her hair like usual, simple and sophisticated……..her smile warm and confident……..she stood there looking at me just for a moment, then she was gone.

I miss her so much and I am so grateful that I get glimpses of her in my dreams. I miss her guidance, her gentleness, her wisdom…… and her hugs.

Cherish your mothers, no matter how nosy or controlling or messy or weird or unfair they seem….. you’ll never get another one.

All men and women are born, live suffer and die; what distinguishes us one from another is our dreams, whether they be dreams about worldly or unworldly things, and what we do to make them come about... We do not choose to be born. We do not choose our parents. We do not choose our historical epoch, the country of our birth, or the immediate circumstances of our upbringing. We do not, most of us, choose to die; nor do we choose the time and conditions of our death. But within this realm of choicelessness, we do choose how we live.

Time?

How is it that life can hit the fast-forward button whenever it pleases and you never can win the battle to slow it down?

To anyone in my life I have not returned a call to, I'm so sorry! I think of you often and if I wasn't buried up to my eyeballs in stuff, things would be different.

Life won't always move this fast, will it?

Anyways, quicky update!

- My new position is great! Challenging and it's stretching me mentally, but I'm enjoying myself.
- Erik has fulfilled his agreement with BMW of North America and has been at BMW Northwest for 6 months now :-) YAH!
- A good friend, Mimi, told me recently that she's having a baby! CONGRATS!!!!
- I'm going to Mexico in 4 weeks and I'm stoked! (I even bought a new tankini!)
- Jen just started the 2nd part of her extern assisting in general surgery at a huge, busy hospital in Spokane..... how fun!

Time for bed...... lots of stuff to do tomorrow...... more about my weekend camping and hydroplane pictures to come this weekend!

Unusual Shout Out

Miriam Ruth Badgett.

If you're out there, call me! I lost your number and your wedding is next month...... I've searched high and low and can't locate it anywhere and I really want to see you get married!

I'm still at the number you called me at earlier this year, or if you can't remember that, call my dad (since I know you remembered their # even after all this time) :-)

Hopefully my plea will work and she'll wake up one morning and say to herself, "I think I'll Google my name today and see what shows up."

:-)

Anyways, I'm off to bed. Erik and I area leaving before the sun comes up for a camping trip :) Erik's dad is racing his hydroplane in Newport, WA this weekend and we're making a road trip out of it. VERY excited to see him race with the new motor...... plus it's supposed to be nice and toasty in Eastern Washington this weekend :-)

Bubye!
